Speech Recognition

Speech Recognition Software is software that allows an individual to dictate text to the computer and/or control the computer by voice. Speech recognition software is appropriate for individuals who have limited use of their hands as well as individuals with learning disabilities. A use needs at least a 10 year cognitive level to be able to use this software.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional Edition ver. 10 by: Nuance. More acurate than ever! The professional Edition has features that can help meet the needs of educators. Install voice file on server or on computer hard drive. The Roaming User feature of the Professional Edition makes the voice file available anywhere on the network to any computer running Dragon NaturallySpeaking and bypasses computer protection programs such as Deep Freeze. The Professional Edition also offers support for cordless or array microphones, ability to save audio with text dictation for third-party correction, smart formating, smart commands and the ability to create multiple custom vocabularies to increase dictation accuracy as a student switches from one class subject to another. In addition to allowing dictation into most Microsoft Windows-based applications, only the Professional Edition allows the user to dictate into PowerPoint and Outlook. Auditory feedback includes text-to-speech and playback of voice.
